The Canton Park District recreational youth baseball/softball program includes divisions for children, ages 5–13. Youth practice on-field fundamentals and the excitement of playing games in a competitive environment that strengthens participants’ self-esteem and confidence. Youth leagues offer the opportunity for a child to experience and benefit from the life lessons, socialization, and camaraderie that are the cornerstones of this program.
The Park District utilizes volunteer coaches and furnishes all basic equipment.
T-Ball is open to ages 5-6 boys and girls. The league is a co-ed instructional league stressing sportsmanship and the development of baseball/softball fundamentals.
Players will be notified the first of May of their team assignments by their coaches and practices will begin. Games will start the last full week of May.
Volunteers teach, coach and administer the youth athletic leagues that play on Park District fields. This partnership provides cost-effective recreation programs with direct parental control. Show your community support by coaching young athletes and make a difference in their lives! If you are proficient in baseball or softball or are willing to learn, donating three to five hours of your time each week is all that is needed.
